The Museum at Utrecht Sustainability Week October 8th
What did your grandmother wear during her period? How could you make the pad stay in place if you weren’t wearing any panties? Can you figure out how to wear sanitary aprons and sanitary belts?
This October 8th, Menstruation Museum Amsterdam will premiere its small collection in our first ever pop-up exhibition. As we explore the modern history of period products, visitors will get a chance to touch and try on the items.
The event is co-hosted with Duurzame Week Utrecht and Period! Magazine, and will feature poetry, art, performances, lectures, and period product retailers. In short, it’s a golden opportunity for menstruants and non-menstruants alike to catch some serious menstruation education. You will find us in the heart of Utrecht’s art district at co-working space In De Ruimte’s premises, which is abuzz with innovation and inspiration:
In De Ruimte
Oudegracht 230
3511 NT Utrecht
Tickets are €5, and the event will take place on October 8th, 12.00 to 18.00. Check out our facebook event or follow us on twitter for updates.

Do menstrual cycles synchronise? There is no simple answer to this question. The suggestion that menstrual cycles synchronise was first published in 19711 by Martha McClintock. Since then, several studies have been conducted to replicate the findings, with some failing2 and some succeeding3 to do so. According to a 2017 pilot study4 conducted…
