This is an archived static website of the Menstruation Museum Amsterdam project that was active in 2017-2018. Please contact linneacc91{a}gmail.com with any questions.

The museum collection spans the past 160 years and includes around 100 historical artefacts, replicas, photos, and contemporary items.

Underwear, douches, and other related items are also part of the collection. Altogether, the collection paints a rich picture of the past century’s diverse range of period products.

Visitors may approach the topic of menstruation with a hands-on attitude. More than half of our items are replicas available for visitors to touch and try on themselves.

Due to language and access restrictions, items and cultural practices from West are currently over-represented. As part of our Code of Conduct, we are working to change this. That’s why we welcome contributions and collaborations.

If you wish to make a contribution – permanent or temporary – to the museum’s collection, please contact us via our email or by filling out our contact form.
